About Robin Bicknell

I was born in Toronto to American parents. My father is a painter and a blues musician and my mother is an activist. I spent my childhood between Shreveport, Santa Fe Indianapolis and Toronto. My teachers were music, protest rallies, art and movies.
I knew I wanted to be a director when I was 13 years old and I spent the next ten years focused on that goal. I went to film school and was already working in the business before I graduated.

By the time I was in my 20's I had been nominated for international awards and was directing for major broadcasters. - I haven't looked back.

I love what I do and I'm great at it. Most days I can't believe I'm lucky enough to get the chance to do it. I bring this joy to every job I do and it tends to be contagious.

I've directed riveting drama, hard hitting documentary and cutting edge animation. I collaborate brilliantly with other creatives and have a gift for directing actors. I can manage large teams and I have experience working on every continent around the globe. I am proud to say that the productions I'm involved in achieve both commercial and critical success.I am a dual citizen. American/Canadian - My family hails from Shreveport LA and Indianapolis IN but I reside in Toronto Canada.
